Examination & Evaluation

*Sentraya Perumal College of Education* follows a *systematic, transparent, and continuous evaluation process* as prescribed by the *Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU). The examination system is designed to assess both **theoretical understanding and practical teaching competence* of student teachers.

Examination Framework

The B.Ed. programme evaluation consists of:

  • Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA)
  • Practical Examinations
  • School Internship Assessment
  • End-Semester University Examinations

All components are mandatory and conducted strictly in accordance with TNTEU regulations.

Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA)

Internal assessment is carried out throughout the semester to monitor academic progress and professional skill development. It includes:

  • Periodic tests
  • Assignments and seminars
  • Teaching practice and lesson planning
  • Practical records and lab work
  • Attendance and participation

CIA ensures continuous learning and regular academic engagement

Practical Examination

Practical examinations evaluate:

  • Teaching skills and classroom performance
  • Lesson planning and instructional strategies
  • Use of teaching aids and ICT tools
  • Subject pedagogy competence

Practical assessments are conducted by internal and external examiners appointed as per TNTEU norms.

School Internship & Teaching Practice

School Internship is a core component of the B.Ed. programme. Student teachers are placed in recognized schools to gain real-time classroom teaching experience. Performance during internship is evaluated based on:

  • Teaching effectiveness
  • Classroom management
  • Professional conduct
  • Observation and reflective records

University Examinations

End-semester examinations are conducted by Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU). Question papers, valuation, and result processing are handled by the University to ensure standardization and academic credibility.

Evaluation & Results

  • Answer scripts are evaluated as per TNTEU guidelines
  • Results are published by the University
  • Provisions for revaluation and supplementary examinations are available as per university rules

Academic Integrity

The institution maintains strict academic integrity. Any malpractice, misconduct, or unfair means during examinations will attract disciplinary action in accordance with university and institutional regulations.
